Rembrandt's painting David and Jonathan 1642

I recently rediscovered the painting David's farewell from Jonathan by Rembrandt. I'd completely forgotten what a beautifully atmospheric piece of art it is. Rembrandt has beautifully captured the high emotions of the parting of the two friends as told in the old testament story. When Rembrandt painted the
image in 1642 he had not long lost his own wife Saskia. So perhaps he was drawing on his own experiences to create such an emotional piece. The painting hangs in the state Hermitage museum in St Petersburg in Russia. Stunning !
