Jenny Saville exhibition in Oxford

Its hard to believe but Jenny Saville is having her first solo public exhibition in the UK. 

Many people first became aware of Saville's work, when she was included in Charles Saatchi's exhibition, Sensation back in 1997.
Her incredible fleshy paintings of female nudes are huge. Fulcrum from 1999 for example is some  
16 feet long. As well as the paintings she's exhibiting at Modern art oxford till the 16th of September,  she is also showing drawings at the Ashmolean museum. I think both exhibitions would

Inspirational images and objects.

I intend to start to upload images, photos, paintings and 

other art works and objects that inspire my photography 

and art work. So making this blog more of a notebook 

for my ideas and plans.

I love this elegant portrait of Sir Philip Sassoon by John 

Singer Sargent (1856-1925) Im using this impressive 

painting to inspire a series of shots Im working 

on at the moment. As I continue to work with 

black backgrounds and minimum lighting effects 

that just pick out the images crucial details. 

To create very strong imposing shots.

Statue 1 is the first print from the series elegant decay. 
Which is taken from a collection of fine art pencil drawings by Gavin Harrison. This print is a 40cm x 
50cm limited edition fine art pigment print. 
The image is printed onto heavy German etching paper using archival inks. 
This print is limited to 50 signed and numbered prints in this size. The print is sold unframed. But it fits a standard 40cm x 50cm frame available on the high street. The image size includes a white border, 
4 cm at the top and bottom of the print and a wider border at the sides.

Lucian Freud's portraits at The National portrait Gallery

I hope I get to see the Lucian Freud portraits which are currently on exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London until the 27th of May. This exhibition is the first to centre on the portraits of this incredible British artist. With over a hundred pieces of work on show, from all over the world spanning more than 70 years.
